Lion’s Head – best exercise in town

The great thing about Lion’s Head is that the climb is short enough to fit it in after work (or even before) and that it’s challenging enough to get a good workout while enjoying the view. Because those views are pretty amazing. The further you climb, the better the view, and the great thing about climbing in the afternoon is that everything around you turns orange, or yellow or both.

Definitely one of Cape Town’s best free activities. And fun, too.

Just remember to take water, even though half the Cape Town population and its visitors climb Lion’s Head every week doesn’t mean it’s just an easy little walk up a hill. You also need both your hands for the ladder parts.
